Designed to be practical, social and fun, Build a Band gives students the chance to move beyond individual lessons and experience music in a completely different way.
Across the programme, students will work together to choose songs, develop arrangements, rehearse as an ensemble and build the confidence to perform.
Along the way, they’ll strengthen their musical skills, learn how to listen and collaborate with others, and discover the excitement of creating music as a team.
Students will:

Form a band and discover their group sound

Develop rhythm, timing and ensemble skills

Build confidence and stage presence

Rehearse towards a live performance

Make new musical friends and have plenty of fun along the way

No band experience is required — just enthusiasm, a willingness to participate and a love of music.

Week 2
5th Oct - 9th Oct 2026
Across the programme, students will explore excerpts from a variety of well-known musicals, combining singing, acting, movement and storytelling.
They’ll learn songs and scenes, develop characters, work on staging and discover how music and drama come together to create a performance.
The programme will be led by MusoMinds teacher Michelle Kohnen, who is trained in singing, acting and dance, giving students the opportunity to develop skills across all three areas of musical theatre.
Designed to be energetic, collaborative and fun, 'Make a Musical' gives students the chance to build confidence, express themselves creatively and experience the thrill of performing as part of a cast.
Students will:

Learn and perform excerpts from popular musicals

Explore character, storytelling and stage presence

Work together on scenes and ensemble numbers

Contribute creative ideas to the production

Work towards a final performance for family and friends
No previous musical theatre experience is required — just enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to get involved.
