Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join the European Education Experience?
Open to all school-aged students who are ready to travel as part of a fully supervised group. It is designed for young musicians who are curious, independent and excited to experience music, culture and learning beyond the classroom.
How will my child be supervised?
Students will travel as part of a fully supervised MusoMinds group, with experienced teachers who have done multiple overseas and national school trips responsible for their wellbeing throughout the journey. Clear routines, regular check-ins and appropriate supervision will be in place during travel, accommodation, activities and free time.
What happens if my plans change?
If your plans change, please let us know as early as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate changes, although some deposits, flights or bookings may be non-refundable depending on the terms of our travel providers.
What experience is required?
No specific level of musical experience is required. Students of varying ages and abilities are welcome, with intermediate-level students (Grade 2 or MusoMinds Book 3 and above) having the option to perform publicly as part of a MusoMinds ensemble during the experience.
What is included in the programme?
The programme includes accommodation, meals, local transport, supervised activities, musical and cultural experiences, workshops, sightseeing and selected performances. Students will experience some of Europe’s great musical cities and landmarks, with opportunities to learn, explore and make music together.
What about travel to and from Europe?
International return flights to and from Europe are included in the programme fee, along with coordinated group travel arrangements so students can travel together under supervision.
Does my child need to be an advanced musician?
No. The European Education Experience is designed for students of varying musical abilities. A love of music, curiosity and a willingness to participate are more important than advanced technical ability, with Book 3 and above students offered additional ensemble and public performance opportunities.
Can parents come?
Parents are welcome to travel in Europe independently, but would not participate as part of the official MusoMinds group programme. Keeping the programme student-focused also helps create a stronger sense of teamwork, shared responsibility and immersion in the musical and cultural experience.
How will students prepare?
Students will take part in pre-trip preparation sessions covering ensemble rehearsals, performance material, travel expectations and cultural awareness. These sessions will help students feel confident, connected and ready to make the most of the experience.
